Over 40 years ago, the Bragg family—best known for their success in the wild blueberry business—took a bold leap into the world of cable television. With one of the first licenses granted by the CRTC, they laid the foundation for what would become Eastlink.
Led by John Bragg, the company was built on a spirit of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. What began as a regional venture quickly expanded across Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, culminating in the creation of Eastlink in the late 1990s.
That same era marked a major milestone: Eastlink became the first cable company in Canada to offer local telephone service, introducing much-needed competition and choice for customers.
Today, Eastlink is a national telecommunications company with deep local roots. We continue to push boundaries, whether it’s delivering world-class internet speeds, expanding our mobile network, or supporting the communities we call home.
