Since immigrating from Lebanon 11 years ago, Joelle Abou-Ghanem has been on a mission to show her daughter that smashing barriers is just another day in the office. Her mantra? Keep pushing, believe in yourself, and never stop learning. And that’s exactly what she’s been doing.
As the only woman on her team, Joelle's been breaking the glass ceiling at Eastlink for nearly nine years. She currently manages the Web Solutions team while serving as a software engineer and played a pivotal role in the successful launch of Eastlink's ecommerce platform. In 2021, she added a Scrum Master certification to her toolkit.
Joelle's found her Eastlink team to be more than just colleagues—they're her people both on the clock and off. In her dynamic role, she embodies resilience, navigating the ever-evolving technological landscape with grace. She has embraced continuous learning and adaptability, mirroring the broader facets of life.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Joelle maintains a balance between family and fitness, and in her spare time showcases her creative flair through intricate cake decorating. Web development might be her bread and butter, but there's nothing like the sweet satisfaction of crafting confectionery wonders.
