Meet Our People: Natalie Dewhurst

You won’t find many women working as technicians in the telecommunications industry let alone as an advanced technician, but that hasn’t daunted Natalie from pursuing a career in a field she has come to love.  

Natalie says she is now in a place where she has the skills and confidence to not only be successful in this role but enjoy it as well.  And that, she says, is thanks to the women in her life, like her aunt who has taught her the value of patience and positivity.

Every day is different for Natalie; she never knows what to expect while in the field. She’s constantly on the go working closely with the community she loves for its people and natural beauty. One job perk she truly appreciates is the beautiful vistas she sees while on the job.  While it can sometimes be icy and cold on the ground, she says there’s just something special about being up working the lines with the sun on her face; it can feel like a perfect summer day.

Natalie is a strong advocate for women interested in technology and encourages them to consider a job in telecommunications, an industry that is continually growing with high job satisfaction.

A committed life-long learner, Natalie has had to learn on her feet in a field with few women to support her. But she says she’s been lucky to be surrounded by people in her life who believe in her and lift her up.
