Log in to the eero app.
From the top of the home screen, select Internet.
At the bottom of the next screen, select Run Speed Test.
The results show the speed between your modem and the eero that’s connected to your modem. These speeds won’t change as you move around your home.
Internet speeds vary and can be impacted by things like the number of devices on your network, how old your device is, and interference from other devices. You can check your network’s speed by running a speed test from http://speedtest-east.eastlink.ca/ or using the Ookla speedtest.net app. Before running the test, make sure to disconnect from corporate networks or VPN connections.
The health check feature can help you quickly pinpoint any problems with your network.
Log in to the eero app.
Select Settings at the bottom of the home screen.
Click on Troubleshooting towards the bottom of the settings screen.
Select the issue that best represents what you’re experiencing.
Click on Run a health check. You’ll get your results and suggested next steps.
Log in to the eero app.
Select Settings at the bottom of the home screen.
Click on Software Version.
If there’s a software update, your network will automatically update as soon as it’s available. You can also choose to manually start the update.
To start the update, tap Update available.

eero uses a single SSID so that connected devices can live on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz radio frequency. Some devices are only compatible with 2.4 GHz. If you’re having trouble setting up a 2.4 GHz-only device, you can hide 5 GHz temporarily.
Log in to the eero app.
Select Settings at the bottom of the home screen.
Select Troubleshooting towards the bottom of the settings screen.
Click on My device won’t connect.
Click on My device is 2.4 GHz only.
Click on Temporarily pause 5 GHz. This will hide 5 GHz for 10 minutes.
Log in to the eero app.
You’ll need to have a profile created. If you don’t, from the home screen, click on the blue + on the top right and then click on Add a Profile.
From the home screen, select the profile to view the profile detail screen.
Click on Block & Allow Sites.
Click on Add Blocked Site to block a domain or tap on Add Allowed Site to allow a domain.
Enter a domain.
Click on Done.
Log in to the eero app.
From the home screen, select the profile to view the profile detail screen.
Click on Block & Allow Sites.
Click on the site you’d like to delete from the list.
Click on Delete Site. You’ll see a message that says ‘Are you sure you want to delete this site?’.
Click on Delete Site to confirm the changes.
eero Internet Backup lets you set up a Mobile hotspot or WiFi network if your wired internet connection goes down. As long as you have power, eero Internet Backup will look for and connect to the backup source you’ve set.
Log in to the eero app.
Select Internet and then click on eero Internet Backup.
Make sure your backup network is available. If you’re using a mobile hotspot, make sure it’s turned on. Then click on Add a backup network.
Click on Search networks and select your backup network when it appears on the list.
Follow the prompts to add your password and complete set up. You should now see your backup network on the main Internet Backup screen. You can add up to eight backup networks by repeating this process.
eero Internet Backup uses data while running. You can reduce data usage by turning on WiFi for only the devices you want to stay connected and turning off WiFi for the devices you don't need.
Log in to the eero app.
Select Settings and click on Devices.
Click on a device’s blue check mark to turn WiFi off. You can also turn WiFi off for all devices at once and then click on a device to turn it on.
