Eastlink has fully decommissioned its 3G/HSPA network at the end of 2020. To enjoy Eastlink’s network coverage, you must be using a 5G or 4G LTE phone.
Starting July 31, 2025, other Canadian carriers are starting to fully shutdown their 3G/HSPA network. To ensure proper service continuity while leaving the Eastlink network in Canada, we recommend you upgrade to a device that supports 5G or 4G/LTE.

On July 1, 2022, mobile providers in the US shut down their 3G/HSPA networks, including in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. If your device doesn’t support 4G LTE data and Voice over LTE (VoLTE) roaming, you won’t be able to use voice (including emergency 911 services) or access data in the US.
The US 3G shutdown affects any device that does not support 4G LTE data and VoLTE roaming, regardless of mobile provider. If your phone is listed below and was purchased from Eastlink, it does not support 4G LTE data and Voice over LTE (VoLTE) roaming:
