The Deferred Amount is an upfront credit towards your phone’s easyTab® balance that reduces your monthly payment. You’ll be billed the Deferred Amount if your phone isn’t returned in Good Condition, or if you choose to keep it at the end of your term.
Your easyTab Flex® term is 24 months and starts the day you activate your service. We call this your “Start Date”.
These are the criteria your phone needs to meet to be considered in Good Condition:
It powers on, holds a charge, and navigates to the home screen.
It’s free from liquid damage.
It’s free from apparent physical damage like bending, cracks, severe scratches, chips or punctures to any part of the device including the screen, back glass, frame or camera.
The display is fully functional and free of defects such as visible burn-in, ghost images or dead pixels.
The camera, speakers, button ports and microphone function properly.
There are no missing components like buttons, keys, SIM/media tray, included stylus or battery cover.
All activation/security locks are turned off and no longer linked to your cloud account, such as Find My iPhone or
Activation Lock Protection for Android devices.
Any PIN/password, facial recognition or fingerprint lock has been removed, data has been removed, and the device has been factory reset.
Phones with light wear and tear, minor scratches, scuffs or nicks are acceptable. An Eastlink retail rep can determine if your phone meets the criteria of Good Condition.
If your phone is damaged and does not meet the easyTab Flex® return criteria, you’ll need to pay the Deferred Amount.
If you signed up for Eastlink Device Protection or AppleCare+, we can help you open a claim to repair or replace your phone so it can be returned in Good Condition. To get started, chat with us online, call us at 1-888-345-1111 or visit us in-store.
You can upgrade to a new phone 12 months from your Start Date if your phone is in Good Condition, or if you pay back your Deferred Amount. You may be billed a prorated amount for any remaining promotional discounts.
You can opt out of easyTab Flex® any time after 12 months from your Start Date. If you choose to cancel early, the Deferred Amount will be on your final bill along with any prorated discounts remaining on your phone.
You can return your phone to any Eastlink store.
You have 30 days from your Return Date to either return your phone to an Eastlink store or let us know you’ll be keeping it. Otherwise, you’ll be charged the Deferred Amount on your next bill.
An Eastlink retail rep will check your phone to determine if it’s in Good Condition. If it is, you can upgrade to a new phone or keep it by paying the Deferred Amount. If your phone does not meet Good Condition, you’ll be billed the Deferred Amount.
That’s no problem. The Deferred Amount will be added to your next bill.
